Eco-Council 2018/2019

Date: 19th Oct 2018 @ 1:08pm

Hello we are Birchley St Mary's Eco-Council and beacons of sustainibility throughout the school environment!  We have been learning that Eco-Council is about much more than keeping the school clean and tidy.  We are exploring how we can contribute to a better environment within our school.  For our first project we have decided to create a rockery to make the junior playground a more vibrant area.  Any contributions of plants/seeds or bulbs would be gratefully accepted as we prepare for the Winter months.

Greenslate Farm are running lots of activities during the half-term such as Farmer for a Day on Tuesday 23rd October and for older children, Zombie Apocalypse Training on Wednesday 24th October!

The Boathouse Tea Rooms are also open at Carr Mill Dam, so why not go for an Autumn winter walk - pulling your wellies on, searching for conkers and acorns in the leaves and enjoy a winter walmer on the way round.  Or even an Autum picnic up at Billinge lump!  We are so lucky to live near a wealth of beautiful environment that can be enjoyed throughout all seasons.

Keep checking the website for our updates and information on what events are occuring locally that you can enjoy with your family outside of school.
