Friday 26th June

Date: 25th Jun 2020 @ 9:07pm

Good Morning Year 4!

I hope you all enjoyed the weather yesterday! It was glorious wasn’t it! Unfortunately, the weather forecast for today is a bit wetter than it has been over the last few days. At least it is Friday, after today you can have a relaxing weekend.

Another reading lesson today from BBC Bitesize. It is based around A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare. This version has been retold by Marcia Williams and she has updated the language to make it easier to follow. This is my favourite Shakespeare play!

Just like the last 2 weeks I have attached a comprehension linked to Roman Rescue for you to have a go at. This week focusses on chapters 7 – 9. If you haven’t completed the previous comprehensions you could always go back to last Friday’s blog. I hope you are still reading every day and are enjoying Roman Rescue.

Maths today is a reasoning and problem solving lesson. Have a go at the challenges on Bitesize or to continue the money theme I have attached some money challenge cards to this blog for you to try.

The final Bitesize lesson today is a french lesson. We do french in class, I wonder if you can remember how to count in french? What about the french alphabet? We have also looked at colours, family members and more in our french lessons. Today’s lesson is about families and hobbies. I have attached a PowerPoint and some games about hobbies for you to have a go at.

It is the final sports challenge today from Sports 4 Kids. Today is all about fitness. You need to choose 3 or 4 activities to create a fitness circuit. You could do burpees, press-ups, planks, squats, mountain climbers, tuck jumps or anything else you can think of. Here is the link to the explanation video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNG7E6hNOp4. Don’t forget if you email me your scores we can find out who the class champion is for each activity!

When I last checked the boys were winning the times tables battle! Today is your final day to earn points for your team. Can the girls take over today and steal victory from the boys? Deacon has emailed again and he is hoping to help the boys keep their lead.

Did any of you create an All About Me piece of artwork yesterday? If you did I would love to see them!

Have a lovely weekend, you all deserve a rest! I will talk to you again on Monday.

Miss Gradwell
