Good morning Reception

Special Sound of The Day

Have some fun with Rosie and Fred, this morning. I cant believe how many sounds you all know now!   https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ/videos Keep practising speed sounds and spelling  The weather is so nice today, you could play some phonics games outside. 

NOTE TO PARENTS -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrJVN02QPEE An idea for a physical phonics game. This game can be adapted to use any sounds your child may be struggling with. It is  great way to practise phonics while playing in the garden. The game can be adapted to follow your childrens interests. For example, if your child would prefer to kick a football, you could write the sounds on the ground with chalk and kick a football to each sound. 

Maths

Outdoor Explorer

Dragons love to fly, especially Zog! Can you think of anything else that flies? Can you write a list of things that fly?

While you are outside today, can you spot anything flying in the sky? 

I spotted a bird flying and a dragonfly flying. Both of them can fly but are they the same? 

Family Challenge

Can you make a paper plane? Will it fly as far as Zog? Can each member of your family make a paper plane and decorate it? When you have all made your plane, throw them into the air and see who's plane flies the furthest. How will you know who's plane has travelled the furthest? Can you measure how far your plane has travelled? Have fun!
