Week ending 27th April

Date: 30th Apr 2018 @ 6:42am

Come and See

On Monday, we were all excited to share our mementoes and souvenirs from our favourite holidays during the start of our new Come and See topic ‘Holidays and Holy Days’. We then learnt about some holy days in the Church calendar. It wasn’t a surprise to learn that Easter and Christmas were our favourites.

Maths

We have been continuing to learn about multiplication using pictorial representation, repeated addition, arrays, multiplication language and we have also been introduced to the x sign.

Letters and Sounds

As well as learning our weekly sounds, we have been busy bees practising reading real and nonsense words. These will continue to be sent home, so that, you can practise at home as well. Please remember to put your phoneme spotting glasses on to spot the phonemes within each word. Also, don’t forget to put the sound buttons underneath each word to help you sound talk then blend the word. cool

Topic Launch - Holidays!

On Thursday, we set off on an imaginary bus journey with Sir, the Bus Conductor and were delighted when we finally arrived in Blackpool after a set of clues led us there.  We talked about our own experiences of Blackpool and Sir played his guitar whilst we all sang 'Summer Holiday.'

We are very very excited about this term's topic and cannot wait to show you all of the exciting things we will be getting up to.  Pictures to follow.....
