Welcome to year 3!

We have been busy during these first few weeks back, but the children are settled and ready to start the new year!

Our new topic is 'Body Business'- the children have excelled themselves getting stuck into their first science topic 'Animals, including humans!

Everyone in year 3 is enjoying our Science learning so far- all about our supportive skeleton and moving muscles. We had an amazing time starting our topic, when we went into the woods to create stick skeletons!

Here are our skeletons!

In Literacy, we have been busy too!

Our first topic was poetry, where we looked at lots of different types of poems, from shapes poems to haikus.

Year 3 created some fantastic shape poems and haikus all about our body!

In Numeracy, we are learning all about the 4 rules of number, and so far we have learnt about column addition, column subtraction and using groups of and lots of to calculate multiplication.

Our R.E. topic for Come and See this half term begins with the theme 'Homes', where the children have looked at how God is present is every home.

We have had a fantastic first few weeks!

Miss Rignall, Mrs Lawrenson and Miss Clough are all looking forward to a successful year ahead!
