Gravity is great!

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 6 Year: 2018 - 2019

As part of our topic, 'Disasters', we have been learning all about forces. This week, we learned about gravity and how it was discovered.

We also learned about the difference between mass and weight and how they are related to gravity. Did you know that the mass of an object is the matter (or stuff) inside an object and is measured in grams and kilograms? Weight is how hard an object is pulled - by gravity - down to earth and is measured in Newtons.

To consolidate our understanding of weight and mass, we were given scales and Newton Metres and asked to measure the mass and weight of 7 different objects. Here you can see some photographs of us in action.
