Year 4 First Week Blog!
Date: 9th Sep 2022 @ 7:07pm
A big welcome back to school!
It has been lovely getting to know the new Year 4s this week and seeing them settle into the new routines so quickly.
We have spent this week getting to know one another. In PSHE, we read 'Perfectly Norman' which is all about being yourself and embracing the things that make you unique. The children then created their own Perfecly Me image. We have also explored St. Mary's core values (respect, integrity, nurture, passion and creativity) and the British Values. While learning about democracy we took part in a class vote to decide our new Reading Beacon for Year 4. A big congratulations to Indiana!
The children have begun to explore the first topic of Year 4 - The Stone Age to the Iron Age. They watched videos and used the internet to find the answers to questions they had about the Stone Age. They have also researched cave art and created a cover page in their Art books for their cave art topic.
**Homework and home readers are currently under review. More information will be sent out soon. **
If you have any pictures of your child being 'caught reading' blease send them in via e-mail so we can celebrate their reading achievements in class.
