Final Spring Term Blog!

Date: 31st Mar 2023 @ 11:13am

Hi everyone,

We have had a great time participating in various Easter activities this week. We thought a lot about Jesus and went to Church to listen to Mrs McDonell lead us through the Stations of the Cross. The children also had a fabulous time decorating Easter wreaths and making Easter cakes and cards. In Come and See, we listened carefully to the Easter story and had fun making an Easter garden.

In phonics, we revised the sounds ‘air’, ‘ure’ and ‘er’, and learned to read the tricky words ‘all’ and ‘are’.  We had a lot of fun doing some revision activities to reinforce our knowledge of previously taught sounds. When we return to school after the Spring break, we will continue to revise previously taught sounds before moving on to the Level 4 stage of learning.  Please try to review all Level 2 and 3 sounds with your children at home over the Easter holidays. This revision will boost their confidence while also improving their phonic skills.  In maths, we have been working hard to revise our Number Bonds to Ten. We are amazing mathematicians! The children have been given an Easter task booklet which contains some fun phonics and maths activities. There is no need to return the booklet to school, so please just do what you can and when you can.

We had a great time on this week's Wellie Walk, where we went on an Easter Egg Hunt. The children had to look carefully outside to find the hidden eggs. We paid close attention to the rules and understood that we each had to find one egg. When we found one egg, we exchanged it for a chocolate Easter bunny lolly. Delicious!

This week, there has been a lot of talk and excitement about our caterpillars! The caterpillars have now transformed into chrysalises.  We cannot wait to see them grow. The children have also enjoyed doing observational drawings of what they see in the Butterfly Garden Habitat.

Finally, we would like to thank all of our wonderful parents and carers for your ongoing support. We wish you an 'eggciting' Easter break.

We will see you in the Summer Term!
