Good morning everyone,

Hope you all enjoyed the bank holiday weekend and any celebrations you may have had to commemorate VE Day.

The BBC Bitesize Daily focus for maths today is addition and subtraction.  I have added some learn screens and activities to run alongside this for this week in the Homework MYCITY tab on Education City. Well done to those children who are working hard to complete these tasks.

The spelling focus today is learning how to spell words with prefixes and suffixes.  There are some activities in Homework MYCITY to practise these.  The writing focus fits in with our “Hot and Cold” theme for the Summer Term.  It is about rainforests.  Why not do some research into the Congo Rainforest in the Congo river basin on the Atlantic side? Find out any animals common to this area and try the postcard activity.

The final activity has a history focus looking at Martin Luther King.  The HomeSchool History website is full of facts and jokes and brings to life loads of interesting historical topics. Definitely worth a look if you’re mad about history.

There have been some changes to White Rose Maths Home learning this week. If you have been using this (and it is going to work more closely alongside the BBC Bitesize Daily) it is worth the grown–ups taking a look as there will be some charges attached to the worksheets, I think they are going to ask for a subscription if you want to access the worksheets.

Sir Linkalot APP offers short, lively, videos to help with spelling.  It looks great fun, there is usually a charge for the subscription but at the moment you can get a COVID CODE which allows you to access the APP for free! (sirlinkalot.org)
