Our School Councillors 2023-2024

Last week, we used applied our understanding of British Values by taking part in a ballot. 

Each of us wrote a speech, asking to be elected to the school council. We discussed tactics politicians used to gain votes from their constituents (flattery was a particular strength of the Year 6 class!)

I was so proud to see that lots of children read their speeches aloud to the class. Even though I offered to read them on behalf of the children, most of them were confident enough and brave enough to do it themselves. Well done, everyone. I was so impressed by your courage. 

The votes were counted and verified, and I am pleased to introduce our new school councillors for this year:

Chairperson - Angus

Eco representative - Heidi

Sport representative - Luca

Health and Well-being representative - Kate

It really was a tough call and came down to one or two votes for all four positions. Well done, Year 6. Some of you have got promising careers in politics in your future!
