Spellings (Split Digraphs a-e and e-e) for Mrs McDonald’s Library Phonics Group

Date: 27th Apr 2020 @ 4:25pm

A big hello to all of you

I am sure you have been making the most of the last few sunny days and having great fun in your gardens.  Maybe some of you have had your paddling pools out?

If you haven’t been on your Education City Maths work that I have prepared for you, so far, then please take a look back at the blogs where I have shown you how to get into your folders.

I removed the time work on Friday and replaced it with some comparing and ordering of numbers and place value tasks for you to complete.  The adding and subtracting tasks are also still in your folders.

Now for this week’s spellings.  Please learn to read and spell these words that contain these rules.

Please find the words that Mrs McDonald’s library phonics group need to learn below:

Rule –split digraph a-e and e-e

Please note the a-e split digraph makes the long a sound and a letter squashes in between to make the sound after the split digraph.

The e-e split digraph makes the long e sound and a letter squashes in between to make the sound after the split digraph

snake                          even

race                         these

take                           eve

Please also practise spelling other simple words that contain these rules.
