Summer Term 1- 'Hot & Cold'

Hello everybody!

We are now halfway through Summer term 1 and are really enjoying our ‘Hot and Cold’ topic.

So far, we have enjoyed using maps and atlases to locate different hot and cold places around the world and have thought about where they are in relation to the equator.

We have worked in groups using books and the Internet to research different hot and cold places and produced some fantastic posters.

We have looked at photographs and video clips from Mugurameno, a small rural village in Zambia, and have compared and contrasted life there with our lives here in the UK.

We enjoyed listening to some African inspired music and have created our own using 2Simple Software.

There are lots more exciting things coming up as part of this topic- including making our own African safari vehicles and masks. We will also be going on a virtual expedition of Antarctica and learning about the explorers who have visited.
