Tiny the turtle

We have a new addition to our class family, everyone! His name is Tiny the turtle. 

We were very kindly gifted the musk turtle by one of our Y5 parents, and to say we are besotted is a bit of an understatement!

After making lists of potential names, we voted (using our British Value of Democracy!) and the winning name was Tiny. As you may or may not know, Tiny is the name of the White Rose Maths mascot, who is a tortoise. It seemed rather fitting that we name our turtle after a creature we see in maths every day!

Since receiving the musk turtle, we have been given a new, bigger tank for him, along with some decorations he can hide in/ amongst. Below is a photograph Mrs Hankin captured of Tiny hiding inside one of his tank decorations. We also have a short video clip of Tiny eating his breakfast.
