Y3 class blog -end of Aut term 1

Date: 30th Oct 2022 @ 2:59pm

What a very busy half term we have had in Year 3!

We ended the half term by learning about Black History month.

Earlier in week with Mrs Ryan we learned about Alma Woodsey Thomas.  She was one of the first black women to gain an art degree.  Inspired by her quote…

“The use of colour in my paintings is of paramount importance to me. Through colour, I have sought to concentrate on beauty and happiness, rather than on man’s inhumanity to man.”

We created our own artwork based on her work.

Look at the images to see some of our amazing creations.

In Year 3 have been focusing significant Olympic figures and their contributions.  We have learned about the amazing Jesse Owens and his world records.

**Just some quick reminders for next half term**

On Thursday 3rd November we are going on our trip to Warrington Museum to launch our new 'Ancient Egypt' topic.  Please make sure you have sent all your consent forms into school.

Emile homework will be SPaG for this half term so there will be no maths based homework but keep practising your times tables.

Well done everyone and I am looking forward to a new busy half term leading up to Christmas.
