The Incredible Story of James Clarke

We were very luck to have Mr Clarke come into school to tell us the story of his great grandfather James Clarke. James Clarke originally came from British Guiana (now Guyana) and aged 14, stowed away on a ship bound for Liverpool. He was a heroic man who has as a street named after him and an exhibition in the Museum of Liverpool. We enjoyed learning about his life and taking part in some traditional Calypso dancing!
