Home Learning Friday 10th July
Date: 5th Jul 2020 @ 1:14pm
It's Friday Year 3 - it'll soon be the weekend
How are you all today? Are you well? I want to start today with a shout out to Harry for his fantastic history research into an important historical event. Harry chose to research the Tsunami of 2004. I've attached his work to the blog for you all to see. Have a read - it's very interesting. Well done Harry.
Maths:
We end our Mass and Volume/Capacity work today Year 3. How have you found the work this week? Was it difficult, easy or just right Today's lesson continues to develop your understanding of volume/capacity. Have a go at both of the attached sheets and see how you get on. Once you've completed the tasks, try Filled to Capacity on Education City.
Literacy:
It's Friday so that means Reading Comprehension. On Monday the focus of your comprehension was non fiction and on Wednesday the focus was poetry. Today, the focus is fiction. Read the extract from The Railway Children and have a go at the questions.
If you want to do a little more Literacy work, try Amazing Words on Education City to check your knowledge of prepositions (the focus of your SPag work on Tuesday and Thursday).
Times tables: 10 minutes
Reading: No need to read today whilst you have completed the comprehension task. You could learn 2 new spellings from the word list for Y3/Y4 children.
Afternoon Tasks:
Choose one task from Monday's list.
It would be lovely to see some more examples of your work, especially if I haven't seen any of your work so far.
Work hard children. Have a good day and I will speak to you all on Monday when I will tell you who your teacher is for next year
Take care and stay safe
Mrs H
p.s. I've just received a photograph of Olivia's mobile in the style of Alexander Calder. Isn't it great! Well done for completing the task Olivia.
